A European-Inspired Styled Shoot and Surprise Proposal at Chateau Noland in San Luis Obispo, California
As a wedding stationer in the heart of San Luis Obispo, I am fortunate to be a part of so many magical moments. One of the highlights recently was designing the stationery for a breathtaking styled shoot at the beautiful Chateau Noland. The theme was an elegant mix of European luxury and Bridgerton-esque romance, set in the picturesque locale of San Luis Obispo. The shoot’s color palette featured soft pinks and blues, creating a dreamy and elegant atmosphere that was simply unforgettable.
The Venue: Chateau Noland
Chateau Noland is a venue that exudes European charm and sophistication. Nestled in the rolling hills of San Luis Obispo, this stunning estate provided the perfect backdrop for our styled shoot. The architecture and lush gardens transport you straight to the French countryside, making it an ideal setting for a romantic proposal or wedding.
The Concept: European Elegance Meets Bridgerton
The inspiration for the shoot was a blend of timeless European elegance and the whimsical, romantic style of the Bridgerton series. Every detail was meticulously planned to create an atmosphere of luxury and sophistication. The overall aesthetic was soft, romantic, and filled with delicate florals and opulent touches.
The Stationery Suite
For this shoot, I had the pleasure of designing a complete wedding invitation suite, vintage letter, menus, and place cards. Each piece was crafted to reflect the luxurious and elegant theme of the event. I can’t wait to show you how it all turned out!
Invitations - The invitations featured a custom crest with the couple’s initials in the center, surrounded by delicate floral watercolor illustrations. I printed the invitations on the best cotton paper, and I personally hand tore each edge, which gave it a vintage, old-world charm. Each invitation was tied with a beautiful pink cotton ribbon with frayed edges. The combination of soft blue and pink hues perfectly complemented the overall color scheme of the shoot. Truly, it was stunning.
Vintage Letter - The photographer, who was the mastermind behind the whole shoot, asked if I could make a vintage letter to go with the stationery. I had never done this before, but I was excited to try! After lots of research, trial and error, and a lighter, the letter was done and it looked incredible! This vintage love letter added such a unique touch to the stationery and the shoot as a whole.
Menus - The menus were designed to compliment the invitations. Each menu was oval shaped and included a dainty pink bow on the top. This ribbon matched the pink ribbon from the invitation suite, tying all the stationery together. The elegant script and soft pastel colors made them a perfect addition to the table settings.
Scroll Place Cards - One of my favorite elements of this project was the place cards. These weren’t your ordinary place cards, however. These were scroll place cards! Each strip of paper was hand curled on each side with the name of a guest in elegant calligraphy in the center. They added a unique and personal touch to the table decor, enhancing the overall luxurious feel of the event.
The Proposal
The styled shoot was also the setting for a surprise proposal, which added an extra layer of excitement and romance to the day. The groom-to-be had planned the proposal down to the finest detail, ensuring that it would be a moment to remember. The bride-to-be was under the impression that she was simply modeling for the styled shoot. Little did she know, her partner had orchestrated the entire event to propose to her.At the end of the shoot, while standing and posing in a gorgeous gazebo on the property, he got down on one knee and presented her with a stunning ring. The surprise and joy on her face were absolutely priceless, and it was an honor to have my stationery be a part of such a significant moment.
The Little Details
The decor, food, floral arrangements, outfits, everything were nothing short of spectacular. The team of talented vendors worked together to create a setting that was both luxurious and inviting. Collaborating with a team of such talented vendors was an incredible experience. Each professional brought their own unique vision and expertise to the shoot, resulting in a cohesive and stunning final product. From the photographer who captured every beautiful detail to the hair and makeup artist who made the models radiant, everyone played a vital role in bringing the concept to life.
A Day to Remember
This styled shoot and surprise proposal at Chateau Noland will forever hold a special place in my heart. The combination of European elegance, Bridgerton-inspired romance, and the surprise proposal created an unforgettable event. As a wedding stationer, being able to contribute to such a magical day is why I love what I do.
Creating the stationery for this shoot was a labor of love. Every detail, from the hand-torn edges to the custom crest, was designed with care to ensure that it perfectly reflected the theme and ambiance of the event.
